Payment

We accept payment online by debit or credit card only. Bank transfer is accepted on In Bond orders.

In Bond Purchases

In Bond refers to wine held in duty and VAT suspense. In Bond is available on request, however we don't provide customer storage so a transfer will be required. 

In Bond Wine Transfer

We are able to transfer stock into numerous other professional In Bond storage facilities for a fee of £15 per case plus UK VAT. Each additional case thereafter will be charged at £2 plus UK VAT. Please contact us before checkout. In Bond transfers remain in duty and VAT suspense. 

Withdrawing in-bond Wine

Once delivery is requested, you will be required to pay VAT and duty on the original purchase price of the wine. An additional invoice will be raised which you will be required to pay prior to delivery of wines.

Shipping Locations

Uvae offers shipping to mainland UK addresses only. If you would like to ship to another location, please contact us. 

Order Tracking

Orders will be delivered by our logistic partners RoyalMail Group or LCB. Once purchased, where available Uvae will send an email tracking number to the purchase email. If you do not receive a tracking number via email, please contact us. 

Delivery

  • Orders are fulfilled using our logistics partners RoyalMail Group or LCB.

  • UK delivery times and costs are detailed at checkout.

  • Each order can only be sent to one address. If you want to deliver to multiple addresses, you will need to create a separate order for each delivery address. 

  • Delivery charges will be displayed at checkout for wish you wish to have delivered. 

  • In the instance of delivery of In Bond wines, you will be charged £15 + UK VAT for the first case of 12 bottles and £2 for every subsequent case of 12 bottles.  

  • Deliveries must be signed for as ‘Not Examined’. Upon delivery, you should inspect your wine to ensure products are not damaged. Please be aware that cases can arrive separately. Please notify us if your full order is not received within 5 working days of the initial package being delivered. 

  • If you do not wish to sign for your delivery and instead to have the package left in a safe place, please let us know prior to delivery. In instance of items being left in a safe place, neither we now our logistic partners will assume any responsibility for loss or damage. 

Return and Refunds

  • In the instance of receipt of damaged goods, please contact us. We will endeavour to replace any damaged stock where possible or will offer a refund in instances where the same item may no longer be available. 

  • You may return or cancel an order within 14 days of receipt of the wine. A full refund will be applied providing wines remain in excellent condition. We will only accept cancellations in writing via email to enquiries@uvae-mercatori.com

  • Refunds will be made as soon as possible, this normally occurs within a week but can take longer. 

  • A collection charge of £15 + UK VAT will be incurred for collections of cancelled or returned orders and this will be payable to us. 

  • As a customer, upon cancellation or return of the order you will remain liable for the initial delivery charge incurred and any applicable taxes.

  • If wines returned are deemed not to be in excellent quality for re-sale by us, customers will not receive a refund and a re-delivery fee will also be charged by us to the customer. 

Minimum Order

  • Uvae requires customers to make a minimum order of £75. Uvae will not accept orders under this value. 

Original Packaging

  • Uvae cannot guarantee that orders will be shipped in original packaging. In many instances, orders are removed from original packaging to ensure safe transit in carton packaging. This is a decision made by our 3rd party provider LCB.

  • If you require original packaging, please contact us prior to ordering.

Ownership

All wines remain the property of Uvae Mercatori (Uvae Holding Limited) until receipt of payment in full. You assume responsibility for wines upon their delivery or collection. 

En Primeur

We do not currently offer an En Primeur service.

Selling to Us

  • If you wish to sell wines to us, please contact us. 

  • Uvae will only purchase in-bond wine.
